LASER/IPL permanent hair removal is a gentle non-invasive treatment that can be used on all areas of the body for both men and women.
Unwanted hair can be removed very quickly. Treatment of the upper lip takes approximately 5 minutes and the back or legs takes less than 20 minutes.
The Nordlys treatment is non-invasive. Hair removal is accomplished by creating a heat reaction in the hair follicle which destroys the growing cells that make the hair. The hairs may remain in the skin and will fall out after 1 to 3 weeks as the epidermis is renewed. During this period, the hairs will appear to be growing as the epidermis pushes them out.
Some clients can experience skin redness immediately after treatment and very rarely, small blisters like with excessive sun exposure. However, most clients experience no side effects and any skin reactions usually disappear within hours to a few days.
Dark hairs are most easily treated due to their larger concentration of dark melanin which gives maximum absorption and conversion of light energy to heat. Fair hair has less melanin making it slightly less certain that we will achieve permanent destruction of the hair follicles. Grey (white) hair has almost no melanin and cannot be efficiently treated. For most clients, up to eight treatments with a four to six weeks interval can achieve good results. Facial hair may require more treatments. After the first treatment, most clients get a significant reduction in hair density and new grown hairs become finer. |

Skin Rejuvenation is the process of removing sun damage, stimulating new cell growth and increasing collagen production.
Typically, the treatment will reduce the skin’s age by 2 years per session hence 5 sessions can give up to a visual reduction of up to of 10 years in the skin's texture and tone. Normally 3-5 treatments are required at one month intervals to achieve best results.
Results are cumulative. With no down-time or after affects, a customer may wish to have a one-off IPL treatment to freshen their skin for an important event. The face can be treated in 30 minutes. Periodic refreshers may be required 6 months after the initial course. Success of the treatment varies according to the individual. Factors such as a healthy, balanced diet and lifestyle, and a good skincare routine contribute to better skin and more effective treatment outcomes.
We can treat sun-damage on the face and body. Photo/skin rejuvenation treatment removes age spots and spider veins, redness and uneven pigmentation. Facial treatments are most popular, but all parts of the body can be treated. A full-face treatment takes less than 20 minutes. |
The Nordlys LASER/IPL is effective in improving skin texture by stimulating collagen production, reducing fine lines and pore size while improving skin quality. We can remove many types of vascular lesions safely and effectively, ranging from spider veins, to haemangiomas and port wine stains, as well as red scars and stretch marks.
Patches of pigment, red and brown spots can be treated without affecting the skin colour. The light is absorbed into these patches causing them to break up and dissipate over a period. The Intense Pulsed Light is absorbed into the targeted blood vessels causing them to coagulate and break down. There is little or no down-time making it the perfect treatment to have in a lunch hour. Typically, 3-4 sessions are required.
IPL is an excellent aid to reduce and relieve the effects of Rosacea. The treatment is quick and relatively pain-free, your clinician will advise you with aftercare to help maintain your results. Typically, you need 2 – 4 sessions to reduce the redness and you may have to repeat the treatment at intervals as the rosacea is an underlying condition.
The skin rejuvenation treatment reduces pore size refining and improving the texture of the skin.
To clear leg veins, the vessels must be constricted. The Nordlys Nd: YAG laser sends energy into the blood and vessel walls, heating the vessel wall and leading to complete or partial collapse. The constricted vessel then degenerates, and the visible leg veins disappear from the surface of the skin. 1-3 treatments at an 8-week interval are normally recommended.
The Nordlys Nd: YAG Laser treats resistant warts quickly and effectively with an intense beam of infrared light. Often only a single treatment is required.
We can also treat nail fungus which affects finger or toe nails.
The laser uses a ‘painting’ technique to apply several shots per second across the whole nail, cuticle and nail folds. We recommend 1 treatment a week for 3 weeks and then a follow-up treatment 1 month later.

Our FRAX laser is used to treat fine and deeper lines and wrinkles, scarring including acne scars, stretch marks and to produce collagen synthesis within the skin.FRAX laser works by creating tiny micro wounds in the surface of the skin. The heat from these wounds penetrates through the epidermis and into the dermis. The laser treats a fraction of the skin, leaving gaps of untreated skin between. This pattern is repeated thousands of times over the course of the treatment. Only a relatively small area of the skin is treated but the body is fooled into repairing the whole area.
Once the skin has healed, you can expect clearer skin with an improved skin tone and texture, improved appearance of lines and scarring and plumper skin due to the formation of new collagen.
A popular treatment area is the lips and surrounding area where plumping, colour restoration and a reduction in dryness can be achieved. Fine lines around the mouth area are improved.
Your clinician will assess the area to be treated and will typically suggest a course of 3 treatments but this will vary according to your needs.
Generally, the treatment procedure itself takes from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the area to be treated.
An anaesthetic numbing cream may be used to reduce treatment discomfort. After this wears off, for a few hours you will feel as if you have a light sunburn but you can return to normal activities.

After treatment, you should avoid sun exposure for 30 days or use sun protection (minimum SPF 30) if sun exposure cannot be avoided.
