Social media is becoming one of those ‘things’ that many simply cannot live without. It really is a colossal industry.
Now, I actually quite enjoy social media but I think it’s a very personal preference as to wether you find it a positive or negative influence on your day to day life. With the introduction to ‘Filters’ over more recent years, it’s easier than ever to hide unwanted imperfections or pretty much change your features entirely. Now, whilst it’s mostly harmless fun, it is easy to sometimes get sucked into the feelings of comparison. Looking at a picture of somebody with lots of enhancements and filters isn’t always obvious... which can lead us to the never ending mystery of, how on earth can they look THAT GOOD?
Well, the answer is that actually, it’s not important.
What’s important is that you find happiness within yourself and your own skin. I have been in the Beauty Industry for around Nine years now, and although trends are ever changing, what’s really stuck over the past few years is to look after your skin. This shouldn’t be a trend and actually, now there are so many fantastic products and treatments readily available for all different skin types... I think we’re finally on the right track of normalising a-bit of self care!
What works for one person, won’t necessarily work for another so don’t be set back by that! It’s absolutely ok. At SDA, we pride ourselves on finding what works for each individual client.
It can seem overwhelming at first, but it’s our job to to eliminate some of that for you with the knowledge and guidance from the experience and training we have undertaken.
So, if you’re feeling it’s about time to focus on you, to love the skin that you’re in, we’re here to help ????
Oh, and here are some wonderful pictures of me with stress/hormonal skin ( thanks Lockdown!! ) to remind ourselves that life, doesn’t always have a perfected filter and that’s absolutely ok.
Love,
Annie x
